Haringey Park, N8

  Crouch End, London       Planning        2 Houses (220 & 200 sq.m.)       Residential Development

The design will replace the existing garages on this mews near the centre of Crouch End. The proposal creates two new detached family houses, both three-storey with four-bedrooms measuring between 200-220sqm.

The new basements will accommodate flexible family space including one bedroom, with full height glazed sliding doors opening onto a generous open light-well providing daylight and sheltered terrace space. The ground floor is designed as an open-plan kitchen, living and dining space with direct access to a private terrace and garden. A second bedroom with en-suite bathroom as well as an accessible WC are provided, to for the benefit of people with reduced mobility. At the first floor there are two further bedrooms, including the master suite with additional cupboard space and an en suite separate from the family bathroom.

The houses will be landscaped with a mix of soft and hard landscaping including natural stone finishes with low raised planters comprising flowering shrubs, small fruit trees, climbers and with native perennials and grasses to encourage wildlife. The development will create a retreat from the vibrant neighbourhood which the scheme sits within.
