Crawford Team visit Futurebuild 2023 as part of "taking a stand for a better built environment!"

Futurebuild is one of the highlights of the construction calendar, providing unique opportunities to meet people within the industry at the Excel in London. This year, there was a focus on sustainability, with a host of events, displays and exhibitors covering everything from thermal bridging details, through to light fittings and emerging technologies such as A.I. (Artificial Intelligence).

The entire team from Crawford Partnership took time to visit the show, and explore how these innovations and ideas can be applied to our projects (click here to see our latest project news) to help our clients. This included attending some presentations and discussions, including looking at how ready the industry and wider country is to necessary retrofit in a bid to improve the thermal performance (and therefore save bills and reduce energy use) towards our Net Zero goals. And one-to-one discussions with manufacturers and suppliers, to consultants and stakeholders.

Having been invited by GreenCoat, part of SSAB, who were promoting their fossil-free steel, Alan was also involved in judging the annual ‘napkin design challenge’ they run, searching for illustrations of a ‘green future.’ However, there was so much to see within a single day, and everyone made some useful contacts which will help active projects as well as thinking about the future and how we can continue to evolve to assist clients.
