Houses and Office Taking Shape on Georges Road

After securing permission for the site in Spring 2020, just when the Covid-19 pandemic hit the country, this complex project on a narrow site in Islington is making great progress. The shells of four of the five houses and the office space are nearing completion having had to deal with a host of issues.

The scheme, which was approved by Islington’s planning committee, sympathetically enhances the Conservation Area context of the street just off the Holloway Road and with great public transport links within the heart of the borough. Although the focus to date has been on the structure, shell and core, this incorporates several brick details and features that add to the palimpsest of the area.

Against the challenges of the last three years, it’s great to see the project moving forward at pace to deliver more house and office space to this area. Working closely with our client, Bexwell Developments, and other consultants, the target is to be watertight by the end of Spring and then complete the project later in 2023.
